Hard Times and Lifestyle Changes

I realize this is not a happy topic still it is important to discuss. Every day brings a new round of job layoffs. This causes a great deal of stress on families far and wide. To deal with this stress, it is more important than ever to think about our lifestyle choices.

The economy is in a vicious cycle. People are terrified of being laid off and out of work! This causes the public to stop spending money. In return, companies sell less products and services. As result, companies watch their bottom lines shrink and become worried about future profits. That in turn causes massive layoffs, and so we go round and round.

Let us drill down a little deeper, and see if perhaps this is a similar condition in your family? You are fearful of being laid off, so you start eating more and exercising less. You gain weight and become more depressed. You start drinking and even smoking and become even more depressed. And soon you’re on a vicious tread mill that creates a self-fulfilling prophecy.

What about the group of individuals that have already received pink slips? Maybe you have been laid off this week, or perhaps you have been laid off last month, or even last year. The point is, what can you do to improve your physical and mental wellbeing?

Start by turning off the news. News channels are all about ratings to selling advertising. Pick a lighter subject like comedy, or listen to music, or better yet start dancing. It seems so simple, just turn off the TV.

Start an exercise routine in your home. This doesn’t have to cost any money. Start by walking, at first walk around the block. Then walk around the neighborhood. If you have stairs in your home, you already have a stair master. Search the Internet for the, “5 Best Home Exercises.”

Let me separate fact from fiction so you can make an intelligent decision on how to start an Information Business.
